Ryan Takemiya is an accomplished actor of stage and screen trained in the Suzuki Method and versed in experimental theater.  He was a member of the Ragged Wing Ensemble, under the instruction of Amy Sass, founder of the Flight Deck Theater. He has also studied acting at the Sarah Lawrence College theater program under Ernest Abuba of the Pan Asian Repertory Theater, and was a student of the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Young Conservatory Academy.

Ryan has played Joe Yamaguchi in the world premiere of El Teatro Campesino's critically acclaimed "Valley of the Heart", Directed by Luis Valdez, and has appeared on screen as Jimmy Ibata in the award-winning short film “Kikan - The Homecoming”. In 2017, Ryan collaborated with 6 other artists to write "Multiverse", a groundbreaking work of sci-fi theater.  In 2020, Ryan released his self-produced webseries “AZN”, which he also created, directed, and starred in. Ryan currently serves on the board of The Forum Collective where he supports and devises performance work that blends theater and journalism.

Ryan continues to act and write original works in a never-ending search for roles that portray the complexity of the human spirit.
